Lakeside Volunteer Library to Close
Lakeside Volunteer Library will close
its doors at 5pm on Friday, January 27, 2006. For the next 2 days,
January 26th and 27th please return any books you have borrowed, or
make a cash donation to West Osceola Friends of the Library and keep
the books.
Preschool story time will continue for
now in the Jones Room on Fridays from 9:30am to 10:00am.
The doors will open on Monday, February
6th from 10am to 5pm, to sell any remaining books. The
library will remain open all that week, with the final closing on
Friday, February 10, 2006, at 5pm. All remaining books will either
be donated to worthy causes or sold by the end of business on
February 10th.
Over the last 31/2 years we have served
this community as volunteers because we felt there was a need for
library services here. We proved the need by the number of patrons
whom we have served. With the announcement of the closing of the
school annex on February 10, 2006 and in anticipation of the
corresponding opening of the Osceola County library in Town Hall
that was approved by the county at the December 19, 2005 Board of
County Commissioner’s Meeting, Lakeside Volunteer Library thinks it
is appropriate to disengage library services at this time in order
to avoid any confusion in the community over where to go to access
library services and to give our many volunteers a much needed rest.
. We have donated thousands of hours to help the residents enjoy
reading. We thank the residents who appreciated our commitment. We
look forward with great anticipation to the opening of a full
service county library downtown.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make the
Lakeside Volunteer Library the great community resource it has been. A
special thanks to our book donors and most importantly to all our WONDERFUL
Volunteers!
